The 7980, I believe that is HP-IB.  If so, did you upgrade to 6.0
recently?  If this is the case check your configuration and
make sure that you do *not* have a pseudo device configured
for this device.  MPE 5.5 ignored the pseudo device but for
some reason or another 6.0 does not like it.
