Ack!!!!!

I knew that someone called Interland was buying Communitech, but they have
stated that the pricing plans, support, quality, etc. we have had with
Communitech will be unaffected. I have so far noticed zero change to any
aspect of my service.

I will agressively post any problems I have with Communitech in the future.

For the time being, I will not recommend them until they have a good track
record under Interland.

I really hate to do this, but...

<unplug>

My children's school uses Communitech.net and they are wonderful.
Responsible, reliable and a good value.

As the list manager can attest, I have had some bad times with my normal
e-mail account ([log in to unmask]). This is because my former hosting
company HostPro merged with Interland. Once Interland takes over an ISP,
they obsolete the old plans and try to get you to switch to one of their
higher priced, less-featured plans.

So being really ticked at Interland this week, I called Communitech and was
bitching up a storm about how bad Interland was. (hard bouncing e-mail,
open spam relays on smtp servers...) The salesman was remarkably quiet
(you
would expect a line like "Oh yes, we get their people all of the time...")
but he took my order to transfer my domain. In fact, he asked if I wanted
to be a reseller. I hung up and the process moved along. The next day I
was having an issue and went to the support page on the web site. It said,
"Click hear for details on the acquisition of Communitech by Interland."

Noooooooooooooo!

Needless to say, I called back and they were very apologetic about not
disclosing the merger and gave me my money back. I was apologetic that
they
would be working for Interland. It's too bad too. They were a very good
hosting company.
