Hallelujah my friends,

In addition to the postcard telling us that "the good old days aren't over
yet!" I just received "THE Letter" from HP that will allay all of our fears
about the discontinuance of the HPe3000. According to Marilyn Edling VP
for North American Enterprise Systems at HP ([log in to unmask]) wrote
that

"Long before our announcement of the five-year plan for the e3000 last
November, we began working diligently to
establish the resources our customers needed for their transition to
other HP platforms. The purpose of this letter is
to inform you of our progress in developing these resources and our
approach for reaching out to each of our valued
       HP e3000 customers."

Well, what do you think about this people. Marilyn and her staff have all
of the answers. But, I guess it only took five months from the date of the
announcement for the letter to reach me coming from the frozen Midwest and
all. But, Stillwater, MN can't be THAT FAR AWAY since the postmark on the
envelope is stamped "APR 11 '02" and it arrived here in BSEPA on April 16,
2002.

She goes on to say how ALL of the third-party suppliers and ISV's are also
onboard with a plethora of choices for us to choose from. We can view all
of the handiwork to date at www.hp.com/go/e3000. She finishes her very
upbeat personal letter by instructing me to "please contact your HP Account
team, ISV or reseller to get immediate information or assistance." Ah,
pardon me, but since she has ALL of the other answers maybe she can help me
with two questions . WHO is my HP Account team representative and WHAT is
her/his phone number? I haven't spoken to anyone that fills that bill in
well over five years. Who knows maybe I'm NOT actually a "Valued HPe3000
Customer!" ;)

Just my two cents' worth on HP's latest DISinformation campaign,
