The performance regarding KSAM is the issue of the number of keys defined
for the file. The more keys into the file, the more performance degrades.
The limit to approach seems to be five keys.
As this limit is approached and exceeded, performance degrades.

Subject: Re: [HP3000-L] Do KSAM Xl files follow the same hashing
performance problemas automatic master i.e. when Capacity > 75% ??????

I'm sure there was a thread on KSAM NM regards very large files about 6
months ago.

I believe someone discovered KSAM files started performing very
badly when the capacity exceeded some particular (but very large)
 threshold.

Could this be your problem ?
