BREAK is not a character (like Escape or Carriage Return) but rather
IIRC
at least '13 bit times of NULL' on the receive pin. That is, you can't
send a break character out a port using FWRITE (at least not without a
bit of a kludge ;-).

You can call the CAUSEBREAK intrinsic from a program to cause the same
effect for a Session. Does your 'strmx' product supply a feature to
access this?

Perhaps instead of a BREAK, you could RUN CI.PUB.SYS to give you access
to the prompt again. When you are done entering commands, type EXIT.
