While you cannot do this when users connect using NS/VT, you CAN do this
when connecting via telnet, which Reflection does support. You must have a
symbolic link to, and edit, the INETDSEC.NET.SYS file to only allow telnet
from certain addresses or address ranges:
telnet allow 172.16.123.* 172.17.136.*
# ^them ^us

Alternately, you can choose to deny ranges of addresses, but I get the
impression you want to actively allow only certain addresses.

The file itself is somewhat self-documenting, and refers the reader to "See
the Configuring and Installing Internet Services Manual for more
information.", although it's actually called "Configuring and Managing
MPE/iX Internet Services", not "Installing". One version of this information
for MPE 55 is at http://docs.hp.com/cgi-bin/doc3k/B3265090836.16171/10. If
you are on 60 or like the Dynaweb format, you can see this information at
http://docs.hp.com/dynaweb/smpe/b1020/b987/@Generic__BookView. This explains
the security file, and linking to it.

Hi all,

We want to use INETD to allow only a few PC's to logon on our HP3000 system
using NS/VT. Which lines do I have to add to the files INETCDNF and INETSEC
to make this possible?

Thanks
