Mark Wonsil referred me to an archive entry:
http://raven.utc.edu/cgi-bin/WA.EXE?A2=ind0105A&L=hp3000-l&P=R12699
which helped a lot, but I find Doug Werth's subsequent reply in the archive
even more helpful:
http://raven.utc.edu/cgi-bin/WA.EXE?A2=ind0105A&L=hp3000-l&D=0&P=29964
To quote Mr Werth:
"It appears that is the case; the workstation sets up a socket for PCLINK2
to
connect to. While I didn't use a packet sniffer to test, I did install a
personal firewall on my workstation that rejects inbound connections. Only
by explicitly allowing Reflection to act as a socket server could I get the
fast file transfer to work correctly."
Hmmmm. Time to try it myself.
