I have been asked to set up an Allbase environment on the HP3000 that will have
queries passed to it from the HP9000. I have successfully set up the HP3000 DBE and
can issue a SELECT to it from the HP3000.

The person responsible for the HP9000 side of this project has not been able to issue
a query from the HP9000 to a different DBE on the same HP3000. He has an open call to
the HPRC. All previous HP3000/HP9000 work has been issuing a query from the HP3000 to
the HP9000

Today, he turned over ownership of the entire problem to me.

Two questions:

1. What capabilities do I require, even to talk intelligently to the HPRC, let alone
accomplish this task. I currently have AM in the accounts where the two DBEs reside,
but not SM. I do not even have a logon on the HP9000.

2. If there is someone with experience in this scenario who has the time and energy
to step me through some of these issues on the telephone, please e-mail (or call) me
privatley.

Thanks.
