   Ok... next thot then... Switch into the Posix shell and use the ls
command?

Art,

Have already tried that. The results were as follows:

@.@ only returns the files WITH an extension.
@. returns the message 'No files match SELEQ for "!". (CIWARN 190)'.
@ returns all files (WITH and WITHOUT extension).

Maybe I need to send the output to a temporary file and then filter out any
record that contains a period :<<
