It sure looks like a pendulum generator in the making.

I am going to try to make one for my son.  He has project on Magnetic 
energy as a green source.  Any other ideas on how magnetic energy is green ?

Not sure how efficient Magnetic energy would be.  It would still be necessary to overcome the eddie currents, i.e. foucault current, which can be a drag.  ;-(   bad pun
