You might want to look at
http://www.hp.com/cposupport/information_storage/support_doc/lpg51151.html

The problem you may encounter is that HP no longer sells DLT 7000 devices. You
may have to go elsewhere for one. All DLTs are made by Quantum anyway. If
memory serves me correctly, the 7115 was made by ATL in the first place. If
you get no luck with HP, contact ATL. BTW, I would definitely not have a
DLT7000 and a DLT8000 in the same library.

As for needing another license to use the additional DLT, it might be time you
look at a real backup software.

Kind regards,

Denys. . .

Subject: DLT 7000 1/15

To the list...

This falls under the 'How difficult can this be' category.

All I want to do is add a second DLL 7000 drive to my DLL 7000 1/15. HP used
to sell an DLT7000 2/15 so I assume this is possible by simply adding a second
DLL 7000 drive to the autoloader. Has anyone else done this? Will any HP DLL
7000 drive do?

Next installment will be me complaining about how hard it is to order an
Omniback software license to support the second tape drive...
