We set the prefetch to zero and still saw moments of the CPU hogging the system. So I:

TUNE 1;eq=248,253,2000,2000,decay,100

This reduced the time slice and raised the Min Priority. Yes I put the job in the E Que.

No complaints for a while.

Thanks
Kent Wallace

Here's a better answer...

http://www.robelle.com/tips/st-performance.html

>set prefetch 0

and

>set makeabsent on

may help, but the job will run slower.

Regards,

-Craig
