Even though he's a Republican? Believe me, there are plenty of morons
on both sides of the aisle!

I heard an interview with this mental giant, too, and in this interview
his stupidity shone even more brightly. He said something to the effect
of "Some people like the cold, dark winter weather, but most of us
prefer warmth and sunshine." Evidently this idiot thinks that altering
the clocks will modify the weather!

Here is the essential truth: politicians are less concerned with passing
legislation that will actually accomplish anything than being able to
say at election time, "I helped pass an energy bill." They don't want
to do anything that would require any sacrifice or courage, but they
want to say they did something, so they pass a bill that does silly
things like this. This is the same mindset that causes them to pass
laws outlawing things that are already illegal. Example: It's illegal
to commit armed robbery, but it's more illegal to do it with a gun. I'm
sure the muggers out there give those laws careful consideration when
choosing a weapon.

The sad thing is that the politicians know what they are doing is
stupid. Statesmanship has long since taken a back seat to fundraising
and campaigning. They give each other a wink and continue the madness.

My opinions are my own, etc.
