I thought this may have been the case.  However, can anyone besides
me think of any software that would fail if given POSIX files?
 
After all the discussion on the DDX issue, not one of the arguments
given showed a case where an application would fail if DDX was not
enabled on the database.  Since DDX must be enabled per database by
the administrator, this should have been a non-issue and DDX
should allow applications to work without modification, which it is
not!
