Alan,

It looks as if the spooler thinks that the printer supports PJL. The
<esc>%-12345X is telling the printer that some config info is coming next.

If you are using a setup file then fcopy it to your terminal (with display
functions on) and you may see the code there. If it is then you will have to
create a PCL setup file instead of using the PJL one.

If not then check your NPCONFIG.PUB.SYS file for 'pjl_supported = TRUE'
either in the global entry or the ldev's entry. If this printer is the only
Non-LaserJet then add 'pjl_supported = FALSE' to the ldev's entry OR change
the global one.

regards,
Robert W.Mills (Windsong Services)

Subject: PRINTING TO TALLY T6045
Importance: High

We have a Tally T6045 connected to the HP3000 as a network printer and it
is printing fine
except for the wastage of paper. It prints %-12345XZ on the first page and
then skips to the
next page before printing the contents of the spoolfile. This escape
sequence is not in
NPCONFIG and it is not in the environment file. The escape sequence appears
in
OUTSPTJ.PUB.SYS but I don't know how to stop it.

Any ideas?
