Hi All,

Thank you for the inputs that you have given to CSY at HP World and
through
3000L concerning the problems being encountered with Network Printing.
There seem to be two major concerns - (1) page level recovery on the
newer
printers, and (2) some of the newer laser printers don't work with the
current MPE/iX releases.

In response, we have formed a team consisting of members from the CSY
lab,
expert center engineers, and other division labs. The objectives of the

team include the following:
1) to clearly understand issues being experienced by our customers
2) to understand what has changed, what caused these problems to occur
and
what would need to happen from a technical viewpoint going forward to
address these issues;
3) identify possible next steps.

We have put in place a process by which we can monitor current issues.
We
would ask that each of you help us make this process work. When you
call
your Customer Response Center to report a problem, please have the
Response
Center Engineer open a ticket and assign an SR# to it. The Engineers
have
been instructed to alert the Experts within the Response Center that
this
ticket exists so that it can be directed to the team. This way we, the
team,
will have current, accurate information on what being experienced.
Please
give as much information as possible regarding the problem to the
Engineer,
to be included in the documentation.

As we work through this process, we will post information to the HP3000L

website, to keep all of you abreast as to where we are in the process,
what
we have discovered, and the next steps for addressing these
problems/issues.

Thank you for your patience. We are indeed listening and working to
better
understand the problems.

Regards,
Network Printing Team
