At the moment, to the best of my knowledge, there are no Marine units in
Iraq. This "message to the troops" was given by the commander of Marine unit
MWSS-171 which is based in Iwakuni, Japan. As such, it is little more than one
man's opinion, gung ho as it may be.

The central message of his end year note is that "none of the good stuff" is
getting reported. Beyond the nonsense that that statement represents, if you
