I have been discussing the agenda for the SIGSYSMAN meeting at IPROF with
HP. Their suggestion was that our traditional meeting with product
overviews, updates and futures was not necessary since any information
relevant to system managers would be presented in other sessions during
IPROF.

Instead, HP is requesting a forum or focus group format where they could
discuss with our group what the Data Center Management team is working on
and get feedback from system managers on what our needs are. System
Managers would still be able to interact directly with the Data Center
Management team (Mike Paivinen and company) and get valuable information on
the state of HP3000 system management. This also fits nicely with the
advocacy role of SIGSYSMAN.

Given recent SIGSYSMAN activity -- less boisterous than in years past --
this seems like a reasonable approach. However, I would appreciate any
feedback from those of you who were planning on attending the SIGSYSMAN
meeting at IPROF. Please reply direct to me at [log in to unmask]

I look forward to hearing from you.

Scott
