This is a great idea Gavin, I struggle constantly with new HP 3000
programmers. I have them read that series by George S. (I would like
to have just a regular paper copy of that whole thing). They use the
old MPE V study guide (I forgot about the HELPSTUDY thing), and the
COBOL programmers go through my cobol columns. We even have them
ready the Image Handbook now so they understand what the heck they are
     working with

A comprehensive resource list would be a great benefit for these
people. I am planning on putting my programming tips up on my web
site (www.smga3000.com) as soon as I get around to converting them to
     HTML.

Didn't Mark Bixby have a perl script to do something with the help
     system to HTMLize it?

It occurs to me that we (i.e. someone) should setup a web page of links
and information for people who are new to the HP3000. Something you can
point out to people who are new to using/managing/programming or simply
interoperating with, MPE.

For example, the MPE :HELP facility includes a nice introduction to MPE
commands and their syntax which is accessed by typing :HELP and then
entering HELPSTUDY at the ">" prompt (just typing :HELP HELPSTUDY won't
work).

This kind of thing will become more and more important as we get a lot
of new MPE users in the next few years.
