Unfortunately, our bug database only goes back to 1988 and I have no record
of what the issue may have been. I am fairly certain this was an issue with
variable length files and the calculation on the filesize or a larger
blocksize was chosen and the file size was not adjusted.

I might be able to do more if I had the file, but attempts to duplicate have
proved fruitless. The only way I could duplicate was if I tried to use a bad
file equation.

Other questions would be is this system shadowed via Netbase or similar.

As mentioned I could likely determine more if I had the file.
