Hello,

My problem : network printers stop with the following message
16:44/61/Output spooler, LDEV #855: FDEVICECONTROL error.
Native Mode Spooler message 9547

16:44/61/Output spooler, LDEV #855: IPC error while trying to open a
printer connection socket. IPCCONNECT error 4:
TRANSPORT HAS NOT BEEN INITIALIZED. (SOCKERR 4)
Native Mode Spooler message 9585

16:44/61/Output spooler, LDEV #855: The spooler could not complete
output of file O557249.OUT.HPSPOOL.
Native Mode Spooler message 9511

16:44/61/Output spooler, LDEV #855: Stopped.
** NETXPORT TCP SIP : INTERNAL ERROR; Protocol Not Started
- Loc: 13201; Class: 5; Parm= $00000002; PortID: $D3C28000

and can't be restarted until we have a lower activity.

During "high activity" user IP connection rise to 240-250 and we have about
30 printers configured in NPCONFIG.PUB. Note that the maximum number of
connections is set to 256 (screen NETXPORT.GPROT.TCP of NMMGR).

So my question is : considering that the more users are connected the more
report are to be printed, will my problem be solved if the max #of TCP
connections is set to a higher limit ?

I guess so, but your confirm will be highly welcome.

TIA,

Xavier Mouton
