As for Imagine:   Journalist and broadcaster Robert Elms said "Imagine" was

written by a "multi-millionaire with one temperature-controlled room in his

Manhattan mansion just to store his fur coats." Elvis Costello also

commented satirically on the song in "The Other Side of Summer", wherein he

asks the question, "Was it a millionaire who said 'Imagine no possessions'?"

1940 - John Winston Lennon was born in Woolton, Liverpool. 



1975 - Sean Ono Lennon was born. 

 

1966 - John Lennon met Yoko Ono for the first time at an Indica Gallery in

London's West End. 



1970 - John Lennon finished recording his album "John Lennon/Plastic Ono

Band." 



1980 - John Lennon released "Starting Over" on his 40th birthday. It was his

first record in five years. 



1985 - A 2½-acre garden memorial was dedicated to John Lennon by his

widow Yoko Ono. The memorial in New York City’s Central Park is called

Strawberry Fields. 



2001 - Yoko Ono's album "Blueprint For A Sunrise" was released.
