Some laserjets will work, while others will not. 

The ones that will not are those that are meant as Windows/UNIX-only devices. 

Generally, they would be most current laserjets. 

Not sure which category the 8100 falls into. 

In any case, if not working directly with MPE/iX, can probably be made to work with 3rd-party software product such as ESPUL from RAC Consulting.
