Sorry you were not there, Art. You missed some of the most comfortable
furniture in the whole show :-)
In fact, I use a Gymnastic Stability Ball as my preferred seat
when I program. See http://www.bodytrends.com/ballchar.htm for a
description of these inflatable balls as chairs.
I always travel with a 55 cm. Gymnastic Stability Ball (and a small
double-action pump) in my carry-on baggage. I would not dream of
using hotel chairs to work while I am away from home.
For a more general discussion of "stability balls" in an "exercise"
context, see http://www.bodytrends.com/balls.htm
Bob Green also has a nice report (with pictures of the Adager rest
area) at http://www.robelle.com/hpworld/2001/ and he wrote:
For "Most Elegant Booth" the award goes to Alfredo Rego (pictured
below in the Robelle booth), whose Adager booth consisted of just
a red cube and some plastic exercise ball-chairs. The last picture
shows Rene Woc and Stan Sieler standing next to the minimalist
Adager booth.
The operative word in Bob's comments is "minimalist". I selected
a similar concept while designing the booth: "no clutter" :-)
At the booth, we distributed a stack of Ron Seybold's 3000 NewsWire,
whose back cover contained an Adager ad that you can see in PDF
here: http://www.adager.com/LiteraturePDF/Clutter.pdf
It was great to see people's reaction as soon as they read it:
"Now, I get it!"
The Adager booth was always filled with friends from all over the
world who came to enjoy "talking shop" while sitting on our healthy
"furniture". I am sorry I had to leave early on Friday. I am
looking forward to next year in Los Angeles.
See you there!
