Mark,
The news item (if correct) seems to indicate that the plan NOT to port
MPE/iX to IA-64 had been made on or before the first quarter of 2001. I
don't recall how this comports with what CSY was saying at that time.

The Compaq deal wasn't announced until September. However, if this date is
indeed correct, do you think that Winston used this slide to make his
decision. While George claims that the higher ups had no say in the
decision, and I believe George when he says so, it would appear that a
decision was made earlier and Winston may have just missed the memo.
