(mind the wrap...)

This time around, the subject is "Language Issues".
We'll discuss the specific issues related to migrating
programs written in COBOL, FORTRAN, RPG, SPL,
PASCAL, and so on. Among the questions that
we'll address are :

*    Suppose I have a program written in a
language like COBOL. Does it make more
sense use a migration tool to translate the
    COBOL program to another language
(like C) or should I leave the source in
COBOL and use a COBOL compiler on the
    platform I'm migrating toward?

* Suppose that parts of my application are
written in a 4GL such as Quiz or Transact.
    What options exist for migrating
    this software to another platform?

* What do I do if I have code written in
languages such as SPL or RPG? What if
my application is written in a language
not widely used on any of my potential
    target platforms?

Our guests will include representatives from
each of HP's Platinum Partners: Lund Performance
Solutions, M.B. Foster and Spedware. The
Platinum Partners are the only companies
that have been certified by HP as providers
of "bumper-to-bumper" migration services.
We'll also hear from two of the industry leading
providers of COBOL migration tools and services:
AD Technologies and AcuCorp (providers of the
AcuCobol compiler).
