Subject: HELP - N-Class 4x750 Boot Selftest Errors
It isn't often I need help, but this hardware related error has me in
trouble.
The issue started with a single HAFO error on the N-Class 4 way 750. The
VA7410 checked out clean status in command view. The system was hanging up
sessions trying to do as little as print particular files. I could run
GLANCE ok. I saw DISC and IMP waits. Checking the system for locks, DBUTIL
hung. The HAFO switchback was slow, but worked after a long pause. This was
unusual from my experience.
Still unable to free the hung sessions, I decided it was either reboot or
try to reset the VA7410. It being quiet on Sunday. The reset was chosen.
The reset crashed the system. VA7410 log analysis indicated a bad drive, by
showing 9 of these errors today. They started at the time of the HAFO.
Event Description = PDM_DISK_PROBLEM_EH This event indicates
that a drive ha
s been identified to be causing problems in the backend FC loop. It
is recommend
ed that the drive be physically removed as soon as possible.
The bad drive has been replaced and the rebuild automatically started. (And
has since completed.)
The system was rebooted and left quiet to run FSCHECK.
cd all;ignore
showed minor and usual spoolfile errors.
cl all;ignore
hung at..

Forever.
Subsequent reboot came up with LLIO error on path 0/5. This was an unused
100BT network card.
After ignoring that and moving on, I still hung on FSCHECK.
So I removed the 0/5 card and now I am still getting...

Any assistance with the selftest error above would be appreciated.
I will attempt to boot up an alternate system with the same array and run
FSCHECK next.
