I should have stated that this source is for a PDL that has been compiled a
number of times (although, not under this version of the OS and/or
PowerHouse), so it's syntactically correct, AFAIK.

I'll make a few suggestions from the point of view of someone who's familiar
with QDD but is a rookiue to PDL. The stuff looks more or less the same but
the biggest difference is the sequence.

The first statement should be "Create Dictionary <filename>". I like to add
the "Nor Preloaded" option to this because I don't use any of the predefined
USAGE thingies.

Then comes the "Systems Options ..." statement. More or less like the old
"Options" statement.

Then comes all the "Element" statements. These really haven't changed much.

Then comes the file and record definitions. This is where most of the change
has occurred. For Image databases you need one file statement for the
dictionary followed by a record statement for each dataset. And I think they
need to be in Image order -- i.e. masters first. For non-Image stuff you
need one file statement, a record statement, the item statements and the
index statements.

Have you got your stuff in this order?

JWP
