I didn't, but I'm sure you can post a URL for an article by Paul Krugman or
any other critic of the right half of the current crop of incumbents, who
have published articles predicting exactly this kind of abuse in Iraqi
prisons, having known in their gut that something like this would eventually
come to light.

I am very impressed that the American tradition of investigative journalism,
a la Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein, only needed six months to break the
story. I hope to read this summer's news events reported in time for
Thanksgiving. After the elections this November, maybe CNN can tell us more
about life in Iraq under the previous regime. And we will be able to believe
every word of it. It will probably only require some dozen articles to get
around to telling us the answers to the who, what, why, when, where, and how
questions that the editors of our great periodicals demand from their
journalists.
