Hello Friends:

Thanks to David Burney of Summit Racing Equipment, who said his favorite HP
3000 quote, "so far is credited to the list's own Terry Simpkins in the
January 1999 issue of HP Professional, on the inside of the back cover
page: 'And our HP 3000 system defines the word reliability.' "

Kudos to Terry for standing up and testifying in that paid advertisement
that the HP 3000 is a superior ERP solution. I'd be even more impressed
with the issue's representation if that 3000 solution, MANMAN, had been
mentioned at all in HP Pro's article *in the same issue* about Enterprise
Resource Planning. Baan, JD Edwards, Oracle, Peoplesoft, SAP and QAD are
all listed in the issue's page 24 table. Of course, nearly all of them run
only on NT and Unix platforms (QAD is the exception). The most widely
installed HP 3000 ERP solution, MANMAN, is not mentioned at all.

Now that the 3000-MANMAN ad has run on the inside back cover, I'm sure that
HP Pro's future ERP articles will include the solution and the HP 3000.
