FTP Hang downloading SAMBA from FTP.3K.COM

If I use FTP.ARPA.SYS from our MPE 5.5 3K to get SAMBA, the FTP
session 'hangs' immediately after I enter my e-mail address
as the password. I get several lines of greeting information
but no > prompt.

Does anyone have any ideas about what is causing this.
My Reflection FTP client retrieves it successfully.
