Hi all,

While I should have been working on something else (anything else!),
I came up with the following observations about the Interex
Vendors Guide. The decrease in the number of vendors in the
Winter 1995 Guide is somewhat disturbing.

Year # Vendors Price Issues per Year
        ---- --------- --------------- ---------------
Spring, 1989 126 $475 for 3 issues 3
Spring, 1990 165 $475 for 3 issues 3
Summer, 1991 163 $475 for 3 issues 3
Spring, 1992 176 $475 for 3 issues 3
Winter, 1992 159 $475 for 3 issues 3
Summer, 1994 152 -1 $475 for 2 issues 2
Winter, 1995 120 -1 $475 for 2 issues 2

Notes:
I'm assuming the "Winter 19xx" issue is the last issue of 19xx,
since Winter starts in December ... but, since the issues aren't
volume/number dated, I can't guarantee that they didn't come out in
   mid-winter 19xx+1.

The "-1" for # Vendors means: subtract 1 for the Interex listing
(Interex didn't appear in the Vendor list until after Winter '92).

Yes, the price per issue went up 50% between Winter 1992 and
Summer 1994...it just wasn't obvious at first glance. :)

   1993 isn't available (i.e., our filing system isn't infallible).

I didn't try to exclude non-HP3000 vendors, although I started to...
then I quickly discovered that I couldn't just eyeball the list and
cut out unknown names...some of them are 3000 vendors that I just
am not familiar with (e.g., "id enterprises") ... but, it would be
interesting to count the number of 3000 vendors, since the later
years include a lot of non-3000 vendors (e.g., "Hummingbird" (9000)).
