I've been through the implementation of timefinder on an HP-3000 system. It
wasn't pretty. Most of the trouble is finding an SE who knows something
about HP-3000's. It's a wonderful product when you get it working. I've
been supplying some details off-list. If you're interested, send me an
email.

Oh, and since I have the regular post done, if anyone is looking for a
manager or director level person with lots of HP background (17 years), send
me an email. My resume is posted on www.3k.com.

Subject: Re: [HP3000-L] TimeFinder

My employer just purchased Timefinder (within the last 2 months) but I
haven't
had the time to look at it. As far as documentation, we have so many books
from
EMC we don't have room for them. I can't determine which one(s) are for
Timefinder but I will look for them. When I get some spare time (yeah,
right!) I
will try to remember to share my findings with those of you interested.
Maybe we
can start a small group to share our EMC findings/problems/resolutions, but
still post to the 3K-L for additional input.

At a client, EMC introduced Timefinder. When we started asking technical
stuff and documentation, there was none. Although interested, the pre-sales
people had no clue and provided no references. This was about two years
ago.
