You might tell your county supervisors to research the fiasco in Maricopa
county Arizona, about 3 years ago.

The voters soundly turned down a baseball tax to build Jerry Colangelo a new
'state of the art' baseball field (with a wading pool in center field).

The county supervisors over turned this vote and imposed the tax. A
distraught voter showed up at the supervisor weekly meeting (after the
stadium was built) and shot one of the supervisors, Mary Rose Wilcox, in the
posterior. Her life was spared only because of an alert security guard who
hit the shooters arm with his baton which lowered the aim of gun. The
shooters intent was to kill Mary Rose Wilcox (a paid supporter of J.C.)

The HUGE airship hangars are at the neighboring Tustin airbase, not El Toro.
Instead of HUGE airship hangars, El Toro now has a HUGE international
airport
political controversy.

Both Tustin and El Toro were decomissioned several years ago. Tustin is
being
redeveloped into mixed housing/commercial uses, and El Toro is where the
Orange
County supervisors (by a 3-2 majority) want to cram an international airport
down the throats of an opposing county population.

I'm uncertain whether or not one or both Tustin hangars are going to be
preserved.
