And I'm a little surprised that George is surprised. I know George is well
meaning, as is everyone I've worked with at CSY. But I still believe that
many of them do not appreciate the depth of the bitterness and frustration
felt by many in the user and developer community over the EOL announcement
for the HP 3000. From HP's point of view, I suppose it seems reasonable to
charge for technical migration training. But to the customer or partner
facing $1000s if not $100,000s in unanticipated costs and perhaps
career/business-threatening change, even an extra couple of hundred dollars
per webcast can seem like kicking us when we are down. Sure, it costs to
prepare and put on these webcasts, but how do you measure the value of the
good HP would earn by presenting them for free?
