NJ Drivers license requires 6 points of ID - I had a photo license of
the 'old type' which only counts for 2 points, so when I needed to
renew a few years ago, I had to produce additional proof. My birth
certificate is, of course, in my maiden name, so I had to show the
name-change-trail through my birth name, my first marriage, divorce
and my second marriage! Not having copies handy of my marriage
licenses, I had to write to the 2 towns in which I was married -
first in 1972, the 2nd in 1987. What do you suppose they required as
proof of who I was? Yup - my photo drivers license (the one about to
expire).
