Sorry, I should have mentioned that this is an Mpex command file that I'm writing.

The Mpex PRINT command has the options START and END, but if I use these I get a range of records. 

"%PRINT ____;start=1" would give me the 1st record 
and
"%PRINT ____; start=-1" would give me the last recod.

But I can't use "start" twice in the same "%PRINT" command. That is my dilemma.
