Here's a brief update on SETI and Team HP3000-L:
The next time the stats for "top 100 clubs" are updated,
Team HP3000-L may well be #100. :)
current #100: Yams In Space, with 4,499 work units completed.
Team HP3000-L....................: 4,584
(As I have no way of checking ALL "clubs," I do not know if
someone else will actually fill the #100 position.)
"Sharkman" (aka Jeff Kell) has devoted over two *years* of CPU time
to the project, and is closing in on 1,000 work units (currently 969).
Don't be fooled by "slow" average completion times. Remember that
this is the average time to complete a work unit, not the average
time to post a result.
A single machine with a 24-hour average completion time would show
the same average as 12 similar machines under a single ID. In the
latter case, it "just happens" that a work unit is completed about
every 2 hours.
