Steve,

I use it primarily for reports because I have not been able to use it
consistently for updating without problems. I have more than once had to
restart our 3000 because I was unable to abort a ODBC connection that failed
with some mysterious error. This has happened even while running reports.
Wait for ODBCLink/SE. MB Foster would have had to really work hard at
making it less stable than PC/API.

Steve,

If you're using PC/API from HP --- don't. The updates are unreliable
(which is why they are coming out with ODBCLink/SE - which is very
reliable.

If you want to continue using it however, yes, there must be a unique
primary key, and Access is not the best tool for the job either --- stick
with VB, and use 4.0 (16-bit) for better results --- 3.0 is really
unreliable.

Your best bet is to wait for ODBCLink/SE to come out, or check out my
article in this month's Interact for the phone numbers of the third party
vendors who offer ODBC, if you really can't wait and need it going now.
