%764 aoptions = Nobuf, shared, Flock allowed, MultiRecord, Read/Write
%760 aoptions = Nobuf, shared, Flock Allowed, MultiRecord, READ ONLY

Since the backup had the file opened, only read access was allowed...

Thanks,

Gary

Subject: [HP3000-L] Meaning and probable cause of error message.

This morning I was informed that our users could not access the application
database. They were receiving the following error.

"data acess error (tranacct*01) unobtainable access mode: aoptions
requested:
%000764, granted: %000760"

I determined empirically that this was related to our backup job, which was
still running, and terminating that restored access to our users. However,
I
would like to have the exact meaning and implications of this explained to
me
by someone who understands what this is saying.

Regards,
