The VA7100 is supported on a SAN using fc8b switches (has boot support)
with the following firmware levels:

CV-SDM = 1.06
VA FW  = HP18
fc8b   = 3.02k

MPE/iX 7.5 + MPEMXD9A (required) + PP1 (recommended)

Failover/iX is not currently supported but there are two beta test patches
you can order from HP that may give you this functionality. It will not
be "officialy" supported until they go general release. Patches are
MPEMXH5C and MPEMXG9C.

The easiest way to INSTALL onto a native fiber LDEV1 is to direct connect
first rather than going through the FC switch. Refer to the following
document
on how to do this:

http://jazz.external.hp.com/mpeha/howto/fc_ldev_one.html

Good Luck and let us know how it goes.
