Don't recall if employment postings are supposed to be OT, so please forgive if they are was supposed to.
We have a short term, 90 day, contract opportunity here in Wisconsin (just outside of Green Bay). Some points to ponder:
Yes, Wisconsin can be brutally (read as life threatening) cold in the winter (we will hit -20 below zero this Saturday night, and the high for Saturday will only be -5 below zero). If you have health/comfort problems with the cold, this may not work for you.
The dress code is casual.
You must be very good at COBOL, VIEW, IMAGE, QEDIT and SUPRTOOL (at least 10 years experience would be good).
You must be available very quickly.
Most of the work, while referred to as maintenance, usually consist of having to get really intimate with the programs/process in order to effect the requested change.
An extension past the 90 days is fairly unlikely (not budgeted).
You need to be able to work under little supervision, be easy to get along with, and work under difficult deadlines.
You need to be able to hit-the-ground running with very little hand holding. While there are people here to help with the existing legacy programs should you have any questions, they are hard to get hold of since they are working on all the 'new stuff'.
There are the usual array of short-term lodging (Extended Stay America, Hampton Inn, etc.) in the area, and many have agreements with the us for discounted rates.
