hi all!
oh what fun i had this weekend...not! <sigh> a certain
piece a archiving s/w from a certain vendor in texas decided
to really screw-up over the weekend on my 995. because the
system was getting 'sicker' by the minute (like we couldn't
even get a colon prompt on the console <sigh>), we tried to
reboot the system. we got to 'shut 1' and the system hung.
on hp's advice, we went ahead and did a ctrl-b <sigh>.
the system recovered ok, but alot of the files in the
account where we do disc backups ended up corrupted. so
i've been 'purgefile'ing in fscheck all weekend. <sigh> but
now i think i've got a corrupt directory entry and i'm not
quite sure what to do. from the ci, if i do a listfile, i
get...
:listfile [log in to unmask],2
Bad UFID for the file /BACKUP/HPOFFICE/HPMIXD (CIWARN 9165)
from the shell, i get....
/BACKUP/HPOFFICE: ll HPM*
ls: File or directory "HPMIXD" is not found
i think i still need to do something in fscheck...but i
don't remember what exactly...and something keeps whispering
in my ear about not doing 'it' on a busy system. any
suggestions? - d
