I think that the regular contributors on this list are very realistic
with their insights. I reject your statement that this list doesn't
recognize that there are benefits moving to UNIX. There are statements
sprinkled throughout our discussions to support this.

The statement above stats that *YOU* offer the best solution. I don't
know you and have not seen any of your work. Maybe you're right, but
I refuse to accept this at face value. In fact, your statements
reflect a definite bias towards UNIX, and not the best solution for
the application. I believe that is what draws the "idiot" claims.

Seems a little contradictory. First you say no single system is right
for everyone. Then you conclude that the *right* solution is a single
platform and that platform is UNIX.

We run Macs, PCs (DOS and Windows), Windows NT, Sun, Tandem, and HP.
Each is employed to handle something it does well. They all work
together to publish a daily newspaper. I wouldn't try to place PCs
in our Design department, and I wouldn't think of replacing MPE
with UNIX!

Steven, I don't know you well enough to call you an idiot. But I do
believe that your ideas are jaded by your obvious bias to UNIX. The
business you do has a built in bias towards UNIX so I wouldn't expect
anything different from you. But do me a favor and don't call me
trying to sell UNIX as some kind of nirvana! I have been around a
little to long to be that gullible.
