"Also, the American people, tend to forget, that many weapons were given to
Saddam by the US-Government (Mr. Bush was vice-president then) during the
war against Iran. Then Saddam was an allie."

This is demonstrably false. All the conventional weapons Saddam has are
either of Soviet or French origin. Iraq was a Soviet client state. His
army and Air Force were trained by the Soviets, using Soviet doctrine and
tactics. His tanks are a combination of T-72 and T-80s. He has
Mig-25s, -29 and Tupolev aircrafts, among others. He also has French
Mirages. The source of non-conventional weapons has been postulated to be
of German origin (chemicals and such.) It has also been postulated that a
German scientist showed Iraq how to create equipment to make nuclear
weapons.

Indeed, Iraq was never an "allie" of the US, but they were morally supported
during the war with Iran, simply because of the contemporaneous government
of Iran and what it had done to the US diplomats in Iran.
