Don't rely on this to be true all of the time. I had a vendor on the phone once
and we were talking about different versions of OS and he asked me to check my
banner line. He kept trying to tell me that I was on 5.5 pp3 and I had just
gone to pp7 not more than two weeks prior to that. He was going off of the
results from the banner and I was going off of a lost weekend and the HPSWINFO
file. (not that the HPSWINFO file is any more reliable, but it is another
'almost indicator', but that is another story!)

The more I mess with power patching and reactive patching, the more I am relying
on paper logs as to what is on the system.
