Well, perhaps it's because mirroring <> RAID!

Some RAID levels ... not all ... have mirroring.

But, RAID (Redundant Array of Inexpensive Disks) has a *LOT* of "levels".
Some make the raid a JBOD (Just a Bunch Of Disks).

Also, you can buy simple mirroring without any concept of RAID.
(I can't recall if anyone sells simple hardware mirroring
for the 3000, but HP sells software mirroring.)
