 Don't know if you got a real answer to this question yet, but we have an
e3000 and did have this similar problem.

In our case it was the GSP (General Service Processor) telling us that there
is an error code that had not been accessed in it's store.  This happens
when you power down the e3000 and then power it back up again.  Most of the
time it is a message that can be ignored, but you will need to access the
GSP's error messages and display it to stop the annoying flashing.

It goes like this:

On the main console for the system...
CTRL-B
{Login to the GSP}
SL {System Logs}
E  {Error Log}
<CR> {Asks a question which is defaulted to No.}
{Some error log information is displayed}
Q {Quit}
CO {Return to console mode}

Your annoying Flashing attention light should be out now.
