HP has a requirement for it's Resellers to have certified sales and technical
personnel on staff. I took both certification tests because of my involvement
with Channel Partners. This certification process is currently only available
for Resellers. We have tried to get HP to allow the members of SIGConsult to be
a part of the program. Discussions are ongoing.

I would like to see certification of the type Micro$oft has, be available for
the user technical personnel in our community. I think the certification
process can give the managers of a company some confidence in the level of
expertise of their personnel or applicants. It shouldn't be the only criteria!
This is a very complex program. Who writes and administers the tests, who
reviews the tests to keep them up-to-date and accurate, who defines the courses
and tests to be taken, and who keeps the database of completed modules and
certifications for the people in the program? Maybe a combination of Interex
and HP. Somebody has to take the full responsibility and run with the program.
