While I agree this is where the stockholders have to become more active. I also think that the Good Ole boy network was smart enough to hold onto enough shares to prevent this from happening.
As I said before, the culture has changed from "Women and children first" to "I am taking my 20 Million and leaving".
The "globalization" of companies makes the board of directors even further removed from the share holders.
The answers are not simple, but I did think it was a great article.
